It astonishes me that warmth for pensioners is unaffordable, but the cost of running Chequers, Dorneywood, Chevenning, Admiralty House and 1 Carlton Gardens isn’t even mentioned.

They’re all too fond of ‘the cost of x costs us xxx’. But most of our National Expenditure is actually ‘other’ spending: Why oh why do the public never ask about it?

Carlton Gardens is so grand that the King had a long campaign to acquire it for himself (years ago).

Why did my 2001 4.6 liter Mustang GT V8 make "only" 260 HP while today's base Dodge 3.6 liter V6 churns out almost 300 HP? Both benefit from fuel injection and ECUs.

And then we have the government wine cellars (GWC) another £24million.

And then we have the subsidesed bars and restaurants in Westminster Palace, the last workplace in Britain where drinking during your shift is seen to be ‘safe’.

That £800,000 is just the tip of the iceberg.

What are the potential benefits of going without clothes at home for a few days without any specific reason?
